Hints - if you get stuck

Hint 1

Something is off about the paintings. Have you tried taking a closer look?

Hint 2

There is a book on the coffee table in the living room. That looks important.

Hint 3

Do you notice something weird with the rug in the hallway?

Hint 4

The book mentions a key. It sounds like it is hidden somewhere in the washroom

Hint 5

Look behind the tiles in the washroom. The key is there, but it is fastened with a chain. The book said it would reach.. What does it reach?

Hint 6

You will only be able use the key when it extends out of the cavity. It's almost like it points at something, what?

Hint 7

There is a dark room for developing photographs in the basement. That must be how they created these photos that you can move through. Maybe you can develop a new photograph in order to escape...

Hint 8

The book mentions that water would be helpful. This must be in reference to the water valve. What happens when you turn on the faucet?

Hint 9

There is no way to carry the water from the faucet down to the basement. But the drain pipes run through the entire house. What if you fill up the sink and try to break the drain pipe in the basement?

Click on the tile in the washroom, three tiles right of the mirror.

Click on the key, and then click on the rug in the mirror to unlock the basement door.

Turn the valve behind the loose tile such that the water runs when you turn on the faucet. Listen for the audio cues.

Go to the basement and click on the drain pipe in the top left corner.
